Brady,
Is Rosacea LTD - III a good substitute for the Z cream? It doesn't mention
demodex mites, but it has zinc oxide and sulpher in common with the Z cream. It
doesn't have the mint.

my worst habit is long hot showers.....and even on my face...i try not to, but
like last nite i couldn't help myself. i'm sure that was the
instigator.....mostly i use lukewarm, but sometimes it feels so good....and yet
it's so drying....MY BAD!
also, i don't sleep on my face...that should be testamony for the dermites...my
face gets those measles when i sleep on my face, on the pillow or sheet....and
i'm fastidious about clean bedding.
Emily
Thanks Brady, i'll chk this out since i use the metrogel anyway.
emily
Brady,
mostly good day to day, can even go out without makeup, just sunscreen on many
days. [except for work, i'm a dealer in a casino and must do the makeup].
last nite i had the red, measles bumps....i used the meds, plus ice and gel pads
and the red bumps are gone today....i even exercised today....[oh, and one more
hideious thing,hahaha....i often use a mud mask on my face for my exericse
indoors to keep the skin calm]......anyway. i only have a few slight flat red
spos today...not measle like pustules tho/nor as many as last nite after
work.....
and my nose is clear and normal looking since the ipl.
only the area next to my nose was affected last nite...that and my outer cheeks
are my worse area for the bumps.
my forehead is mostly clear since the ipl.plus the orange peel skin is gone
since the ipl....as well as the overly dryness.
i use the otc sulfer med for the zits.....
this all started when i was 50, so dealing with aging skin along with all this
is such a treat......but am grateful that most days i look normal since the ipl.
Emily
Beverly,
I have no idea why the Z cream uses
any of the ingredients, particulary
the mint, but it is cooling which is
the benefit. The side effect for me is it
causes tearing of the eyes. That is
a shame you are sensitive to mint.
There is no mint in the Xin Fumanling.
Brady
Emily,
Let me digest this for a while. That
is a long list for a regimen. So how
do you describe your skin now?
Brady
Beverly, that's my problem exactly...the menthol.....emily
Brady
i have been on metrogel for a cpl years....that controls it between ipl
treatments 2x a year...the ipl doesn't get rid of it entirely.
i also use the benzoyl peroxide [for zits]....and zovirax ointment for the
little blisters.......and also use the ice and and silicone gel pads to calm the
pustules when they pop up after my system gets aggravated by something i ate/or
exercised and got too hot.......it's a full time job.
so.

including prescription and non prescription?
Brady
i'm sorry to hear that, since i am sensitive to ingredients in the creme.

Hi Linda
I too have very dry skin and have been using the z cream for 9 weeks now. At
first it was very drying and I used jojoba oil during the day. After about 3
weeks the drying stopped and I just have some spots that flake now and then. I
just use a very light application at night. Getting ready to place my second
order and am going to try the day cream without metro (allergic). Personally
these are the best products I have used to control rosacea and believe me I have
thrown away lots of $$ on products that did not work.
Hope this helps.
Julie
Emily,
No. I recommend the Z cream along with
the Acarid Soap.
Here are detailed instructions on what
I recommend:

I have placed some detailed instructions
for the use of the Z cream at this url

Lindyloo12345,
What is recommended as a moisturizer is
Fumanling Cosmetic during the day (using the
Z cream at night)
Some are using the Xin Fumanling Cream
With 3% Metronidazole as a moisturizer during
the day (and the Z cream at night).
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/products6.html
On the first application, use just a little to see how
your skin reacts to either one you use. Every
rosacean is different and it is all one big experiment
with everyone. Remember the X-Factor
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/xfactor.html
However, there are reports that some are using
other moisturizers like Linda Sy's products or
Rosaceacare. If you have a favorite moisturizer
that worked for you in the past, you might try it
along with the Z cream at night.
I tried the Xin Fumanling Cream With 3% Metronidazole
and got a reaction of redness and quit using it. But
others seem to do well with it. My face is oily
and I really don't need a moisturizer and I wish I
could give you some of my oil. I love how the Z
cream dries it up.

Happy thanksgiving, Things seem to be going good with
the jojoba oil and disc i also am continuing with
watching what i eat. I am eating a lot of
blueberrries and have limited my sugar in take. I have
been eating a salad with lunch and dinner i ate a big
lunch at my companys thanksgiving lunch and had only a
minor flair up probably from the cake and or chicken
Hi,
I'm Linda. Acne for 20 years (15 - 35). Best treatment results were
with 2 courses of Accutane. Rosacea for 7 years (35 - 42). Treated
with cream (hydrocortisone, clindamycin, sulfur, metronizadole)
which had less efficacy as the years went by.
Have become more and more jaded about the medical establishment as
the years have gone by. About 1 year ago I stopped using the cream
for my rosacea and I had the WORST flare up. My face was
horrendous. Now with some research I realize that using
hydrocortisone on my face for over 5 years was NOT a good idea.
I went to a naturopath for about 6 months....saw no improvement. He
gave me herbal drops that were supposed to cleanse various organs.
Begrudingly went back to a derm and have been using metronizadole
creams (Rosasol and Noritate). Got desperate seeing no improvement
and had 3 IPL treatments. After 3, doc told me I shouldn't have any
more until I've done a course of antibiotics. My mindset has
completely changed since I took Accutane in my late 20's and I am
very resistant to taking antibiotics. I even hate using the
metronizadole on my skin.
Dermatologist says there's nothing more he can do for me if I won't
take antibiotics. BTW, I had a child just over 2 years ago and am
still nursing which is a very big reason why I'm hesitant to use
pharmaceutical drugs.
I think I'm a prime candidate to try the Chinese creams but I am
concerned about the drying factor. Right now my skin is extremely
dry. Washing with plain water is too drying for it. I can't see
how I'm going to be able to use the Z cream.
Funny thing is that when I had acne I had extremely oily skin. I
think the cream I used for 5 years has caused this very dry skin I
have now.
So, dry skin but lots of papules, pustules, milia and the occasional
big cyst.
Right now I'm taking zinc, evening primrose and omega 3-6-9. I'm
cleansing my face with cetaphil and applying noritate morning and
evening. I've seen only a small improvement from my very worst
period and no improvement at all in the last 6 months.
I'd love to hear from anyone who had really dry skin who tried the Z
cream.
Any other suggestions?
Oh, I have ordered some of Origin Biomedicinals green tea cream
(read a study that said green tea has been somewhat successful in
treating rosacea) and a tester package from Linda Sy plus Dr. Nase's
book.
I have had approximately 30 IPL treatments over the past couple of years. I
have had no side effects from these, although the nurses have been careful
not to get too aggressive. They started at 27 joules and have not gone above
31 joules in recent treatments.
I get these treatments in Washington DC, which means I unfortunately have no
idea who to recommend in the UK.
Best of luck to you.
i usually get 2 treatments a year. i skipped my fall treatment and had a
horrible problem....plus i had started using the cortisone here and there and
may have had the rebound effect.
i have a hard time buying something i can't read the label on.
emily
Brady,
my problem was a skin swelling with the ingredients in the zcream. [the menthol
or mint ]Walter never sent the info i needed for the folio, so i am also waiting
to order the soap.
Emily
Emily,
Did you read the article that IPL kills demodex?
See this url
http://tinyurl.com/9p455
$29 for a jar of Z cream sure beats the cost of IPL if
the end result is the same. I always wondered why IPL
works and why many rosaceans had to go back for
more treatments months or years later. If I could
afford IPL I would try it. There are some good reports
about it if you get the right doctor. For those who
have no idea what IPL is, go to my editorial and links
on IPL at this url

Or buy a jar of Z cream for $29 plus shipping and
see if it works for you

Demodex Products

Hi Anne,
Thanks for your reply. I have been using the seabuckthorn for several
days now and it seems to be irritating my skin. But just 'washing' my
face with cotton balls & cold water yesterday seemed to burn. I was
under the impression that Seabuckthorn was a demodex product. Can you
lead me towards the demodex products you are talking about?
I am starting to feel like there are NO products at all I can put on my
face and from the pictures I have seen my Rosacea looks mild compared
to most.
Thanks,
Beverly
Anyone familiar with either of these topical meds?
When I called my Derm. Dr. yesterday to tell them Metrogel is burning
my face they called in two prescriptions for me.
The Vytone for my face. Synalar for head itchies. I looked them up just
now and both are corticosteriods. From the reading I have done over the
last few days I am guessing neither of them would be good for Rosacea
skin?
Any opinions welcome!
Thanks,
Beverly
wow, sounds good..i am desperate to try anything...could you possibly send
me out a sample too?
Samantha
Beverly,
I tried the seabuckthorn products back when I had full-blown
rosacea with postules (look like pimples, but not pimples). The
products didn't actually help the rosacea, but didn't make it worse
either. Probably a good mild product once rosacea is under
control. The only thing that has made my rosacea "disappear" are
the demodex products. I make sure I still use non-irritating
products, of course.
Good luck,
Anne
Dr. Nase,

of all forms of rosacea and research into this disease

I know many others have got great results with IPL. I got worse,
however. It was after I did two treatments that I started to develop
rosacea. But it's importent to add that I took those treatments while
using Obagi products, with very strong vitamin A. The nurse said it was
ok. I have been talking to another place were they do the treatment,
and they said I should stop those products at least three weeks before
the treatment, because the skin becomes thinner from those products. I
can not be sure it was the products that caused my
permanent redness, or if I would have it anyway from the IPL
treatments. I have heard from som others that also got more redness
after IPL. Most I have heard about are happy with the results and some
don't see any results. But I think it's important to hear about us with
bad results too. And be careful about strong products before IPL! And
most important: find an practitioner with good knowledge!
Anne
Hi all,
I am new to this group so maybe I have missed some of the prior comments
regarding my question but could any tell me about their IPL treatment
experience for rosacea? I am considering having this done myself but am
very nervous about it. Can any one tell me if there is any way I could have
permanent scarring after this treatment or any other negative effect? Also, can
anyone recommend a doctor who performs this treatment in the UK area?
Thank you.
I have some great news of my own. I was sent some information by the nurse
at my job regarding treatments for rosacea, exzyma, and something else I
can't remember now and it stated that taking Flax-seed oil and zinc was a
good treatment for these conditions. So I went off to the pharmacy and was
looking for these two items when I ran into one of the pharmacists. He told
me how his brother also had rosacea and that he was taking both and also
fish oil. Well I took his advise and started taking all of these on top of a
One-A-Day for men. After only 2 days, my face has cleared up and I haven't
broke out since. Not only that, but I have been eating all kinds of things
that I was told not to eat including Barbecue sauce, dairy products,
spaghetti, and even drinking my favorite beer, Coors light. I am a new man.
I cannot believe how I've gone from broke out every other day to nothing for
3 whole weeks now. If no one has tried this before, I recommend at least
giving it a try. I know lots of people try the same thing others say works
and sometimes it doesn't work for others but I tried many of the things you
folks talked about and nothing ever worked except the one thing everyone
said stay away from and that was hydrocortezone. It did work well for me but
it did thin my skin terribly and I had to stop using it. Good luck to
everyone on your treatments and I hope you all succeed.
Thanx and have a great day.

I would love to hear the details about your soap. Can those of us with
extremely sensitive skin (itching, burning, and so forth) use it?
Also, I understood Dr. Nase's post to say that although he is stepping aside
from just one organization he has plans to continue his work with Rosacea.
I am particularly happy to note his plan for a "physical location" of an
insitute in which Rosacea could be treated. Can't wait to hear more detail
about
this, as well.

is there a logical explanation as to why zovirax helps my rosacea and perioral
dermatitis? i use the metrogel, with diluted benzyl peroxide...but get better
results if i top the bad parts off with the zovirax.
emily
DR. Nase,
Sorry to hear you are leaving the Rosacea group. I have rosacea and have tried
for the last
2 years to get rid of it by going to dematologists, medicine , etc. I created a
soap using special oils that have been totally successful in being able to
control my redness and little white pimples for the last 6 months. I've only had
one small outbreak which disappeared after a few hours . However I am having
occular rosacea at the moment. This soap does not cure
rosacea, but it absolutely helps. My face is "red free". I have been giving it
to my friends who have mild rosacea and they have also experienced success. It
seems to help with pimples
too. I am not a fanatic,etc.. I am a teacher in Los Angeles and feel that I've
really found something of great use. My opthamologist is using it now for
pimples. She discovered my
rosacea and sent me to a dermatologist for a firm diagnosis. She is treating my
ocular
rosacea right now and says it is amazing that through all of this my face is
still clear and
white, with no redness. She has even offered to take me to a dematologists
meeting
to show my soap when I have gathered enough testamonials. If you would like to
hear more,
Hello Group,
I have had many people email me from different boards about one
subject lately. My role in the Rosacea Research Foundation.
I have decided to step aside and resign as the Chairman of the
Medical Advisory Committee. There were several reasons for this,
but none need be explained.
I will continue to be there for all rosacea sufferers and shortly
will regain my previous level of activity. We also have plans for
the first physical location of a Rosacea Institute for the treatment
of all forms of rosacea and also active research in collaboration
with a medical University. I hope that all the rosacea foundations
grow because this is the only way we are going to move forward.
Collaboration would be ideal, but this is not always a perfect
world. At the very least, changing the views of doctors, ripping up
Galderma pamphlets, and putting more direct pressure on the larger
forces would be an excellent start.

Geoffrey

Dear Group--
I have read a couple of posts in recent weeks regarding how to get rid of (or
at least minimize) papules. I had managed to last a couple of weeks in
April on doxycycline, but after trying for nearly a month to rid myself of the
yeast infections brought on by the doxy, I would like to try some of the
alternative recommendations made online.
Two people recommended essence of lavendar and one of those two recommended
"high quality" apple cider as good for minimizing papules. There was at least
one other product recommended, but I cannot recall what it was.
I have a few questions: (1) Are the above recommendations for EXTERNAL
products to be applied topically or are they in capsule form to be taken
INTERNALLY? (2) Do any posters have brand names they will recommend for this
purpose? If so, what are those brand names and where can they be purchased?
(3)
What qualifies as "high quality" apple cider? (4) Does anyone have
recoomendations other than apple cider and essence of lavendar?
I would be most grateful for any advice I can get on this, since the papules
on my right cheek are unbelievably stubborn, and nothing seems to budge them.
Thanks,
Alice
i use Eye-scrub for my eyes when they feel awful....don't know if it's due to
dermites in the eyes or what. my eye doc said i don't have rosacea in the eyes.
But the eye-scrub really helps...it's from novartis i think.

Hi Everyone, I was wanting to comment on the Z creme. I started using it a few
weeks ago, with some facial peeling initially, but improvement to the pustules.
Hard to tell what was improving though because I was also taking Vit B5
supplements and Noritate. I forgot it on vacation and my face seemed to get
worse, even though I by then was on Monocycline. (The antibiotic by the way,
seems to make me feel awful, and hasn't really done much to help me). Am
wondering if the Z alone might work, and where is the article on Demodox being
the cause of Rosacea? Also, I cannot seem to find a laser physician in the
Boston area who has treated Rosacea. Any thoughts? Thanks, Courtney

You should know in two weeks or less if you see
improvement. The recommended treatment is
three months of Z cream. I still dab a little on
my nose and cheeks every night and I have been
using it for over 7 months. I mainly use it as a
maintenance regimen. It lasts a long time just
dabbing a little on that way.
Your first application should be light to see how
your skin reacts to the Z cream. You can then
gradually add more to your face. Let us know
how you respond to the Z cream?

Hi Brady,
I've just started using the Z cream. The directions say to keep using it even if
your skin has cleared up and is no longer red after 3 -4 weeks, but it doesn't
say how long to keep using it. How long should I use it to make sure all the
mites and their eggs are eliminated? Also, how long should I expect to use it
before I start seeing results?

Here is an interesting study....which concludes that Demodex causes
rosacea.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?
cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=11775112
The pathogenesis of Demodex folliculorum (hair follicular mites) in
females with and without rosacea.
el-Shazly AM, Ghaneum BM, Morsy TA, Aaty HE.
Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura
University, Egypt.
In rosacea patients (ages 11-50 years old) 44% were infested with D.
folliculorum as compared to normal controls (23.0%). The difference
was significant. The mean +/-SD of mite density ranged between
13.2+/-0.9 to 18.2+/-1.2 as compared to normal controls with mite
density ranged between 1.4+/-0.25 to 2.4+/-0.3. Demodex infestation
in rosacea patients was 66.1% in squamous, 66.7% in erythemato-
telangiectate and 83.3% in papulo-pustular rosacea. The highly
infested site was check (27.3%) with mean mite density of 25.3+/-
1.3, followed by the area around the orbit (23.4%) with a density of
19.0+/-1.2, the area around the nose (19.5%) with mite density of
7.1+/-1.5, then chin (15.6%) with a density of 8.2+/-1.4 and lastly
the area around the mouth (14.1%) with a mite density of 14.2+/-1.3.
Undoubtedly, infestation with D. folliculorum particularly in large
number causes rosacea.

Improves acne, rosacea
Intense Pulsed Light Eradicates Demodex Mites
Timothy F. Kirn
Sacramento Bureau
VAIL, COLO. Intense pulsed light appears to kill Demodex mites
around hair follicles and sebaceous glands, which could make it
useful in treating acne, Dr. Neil Sadick said at a symposium
sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Sadick of Cornell University, New York, conducted an
investigation in which 24 patients with a mean age of 47 years and
Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV were treated with an intense pulsed
light
device (Quantum SR, ESC-Lumenis, Palo Alto, Calif.), which emits a
noncoherent, multiwavelength of light of 500-1,100 nm. All patients
were treated monthly, up to five times, using an average fluence of
25-45 J/cm2.
Patients were then evaluated using a number of techniques that
included observer rating of photographs, computer-based optical
profiling, histology, and the use of monoclonal antibodies to
measure
cytokine production.
Histology showed no evidence of appreciable new collagen formation,
either by ultrastructural observation or by monoclonal antibody
binding concentration, even though there were indications of
increased fibroblast activity, he said at the symposium, also
sponsored by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
"There is some attempt at `neocollagenesis' occurring, but, in my
opinion, there is not significant new collagen to the point where
you
can tell your patients that their wrinkling will be markedly
improved
because of new collagen formation," he said.
Likewise, there did not appear to be new elastin fiber formation.
But
there was "normalization" of the elastin fibers.
Histology also did not reveal any necrosis, or fibrin thrombi, and
only minimal new blood vessel formation.
On the other hand, since intense pulsed light wavelengths target
melanocytes, the investigation did find decreased melanin production
at the dermoepidermal junction and eradication of the Demodex mites
in the pilosebaceous units. Perhaps as a consequence, there was a
decrease in inflammatory infiltrate in the skin, both in rosacea but
also in photodamaged areas.
"If you treat patients with intense pulsed light, you can eradicate
almost all the organisms," he said.
The findings help explain the results already observed with intense
pulsed light, Dr. Sadick said. They also suggest that the patient
who
will benefit most is the person in his or her mid-40s who wants to
reverse early sun damage but does not need dramatic rhytid
improvement.
Killing of the Demodex organisms, and consequently toning down
inflammatory processes, probably explains why intense pulsed light
improves redness. Many patients believe that they have a decrease in
pore size, and this may be due to shrinkage of the sebaceous glands.
Normalization of the elastin fibers may improve elasticity and
account for some of the smoothing of texture that is seen. Decreased
melanin production accounts for the improvements in dyschromia.
The study did demonstrate fairly significant improvement, he said.
The independent observer assessment of the 17 patients who completed
five treatments found that 47% achieved more than a 50% improvement
in skin tone, texture, and color.
Based on the results, Dr. Sadick said he tells patients that they
can
expect a 25%-50% improvement in skin contour and redness.
Because of the eradication of Demodex, Dr. Sadick has begun to
investigate using intense pulsed light for acne. "In our experience,
we have found it is helpful in treating mild acne ... but not as
helpful in treating cystic acne."

Geoffrey,
Brady,
I was interested to see the sublimed sulfur in the one ointment you
recommended. Three questions purely out of interest:
1. Do you know why they chose sublimed sulfur and not precipitated
sulfur or colloidal sulfur. Colloidal sulfur in known for its
ability to penetrate deep into the pores and has a little better
anti-keratinizing affect. Maybe it just did not compound well into
their mixture?
2. The cooling ointment has menthol in it. Is it just a dab or is
it quite strong. Most rosacea suffersrs love the immediate cooling
action of menthol, but then are haunted by the subsequent increase
in blood flow. Do they keep the percentages relatively
low......e.g. can you distinctly smell it?
3. Do they make a clinically proven formula (safety wise) for the
eyelids. Blepharitis with secondary demodex infestation is a real
problem for some and is noted in pubmed quite often.
Regards,
Geoffrey

Hi gang.
I just have a question for those who cannot tolerate
the hot summer months.
If you wear a total sunblock lotion on your face like 30 SPF
do you still have a flare up even though you are protected
from the sun?
A 30 SPF or higher is TOTAL SUNBLOCK,but,,,,perhaps
it is the HEAT that still makes you flare up?
Just curious.
Does a total sunblock lotion help you?

Zhao Zhongzhou is the owner and director of
Zhongzhou Pharmaceutical Company in China.
See this url on Zhao Zhongzhou
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/z3.html
He produces the Zhongzhou Medical Ointment.
There is no evidence that Zhao Zhongzhou owns
or operates Demodex Solutions, LTD since this
company is run by Walter Freyne, a Belgium, from
his website controlled from Hong Kong.
Demodex Solutions, LTD markets the Z cream
from their website and affiliates of which I am
one.
Zhao Zhongzhou does not make anything for
baldness. There is no evidence that Zhao Zhongzhou
produces anything for baldness. Zhao is in his
seventies and produced the Z cream years ago
which has helped many rosaceans. To attack
the credibility of Zhao Zhongzhou is a huge mistake and
will haunt whoever does this. Big mistake. An
apology should be in order.
As to Zhao Zhonzhou's claims that the Z cream
cures rosacea one should read the claims themselves
rather than jump to conclusions that may be regretted.
The word cure means different things to different
cultures and just because rosaceans have been told
there is no cure for rosacea should not be used for
an excuse to denigrate Zhao Zhongzhou's character
or his product, which from all evidence is the only
product he makes, just because he uses the word
'cure.' I think most rosaceans are intelligent enough
to take that wih a grain of salt and not cast aspersions
about those who market the Z cream or on Zhao
Zhongzhou.
I have never claimed that the Z cream cures rosacea
but know that it will indeed help control my rosacea.
These attacks should stop.
Yikes! We don't have rosacea, we have
demodecosis? Who says? Is it your dermatologist?
I would ask him. But before you do you should
at least give this some thought.
I think it was sometime in the early
1980's that a dermatologist told me I
had rosacea. Apparently being diagnosed
with rosacea can mean that you really don't
know what is happening to your face since
you may have instead another skin condition
because rosacea looks like a long list of other
skin diseases. I now have added demodecosis
to a list that without a doubt is incomplete
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/other.html
I checked the four subtypes of rosacea
and demodecosis isn't listed. I checked
the four official variants of rosacea and
demodecosis isn't listed there. I did a google
search and found this item
http://www.lbah.com/canine/demodex.htm
So far, I haven't confirmed whether dermatologists
are finding demodecosis on humans in America but I will
keep on the watch.
Apparently one noted authority on rosacea thinks
that the Chinese are suffering from demodecosis
and not rosacea. This is really new stuff.
It has been claimed that the millions of
Chinese who have red noses and red cheeks
actually have classic demodecosis which is
a world apart from rosacea. The reason for
this redness is said to be secondary to massive
infestations of demodex based on culture,
cleansing habits in rural areas, animal contact
and the susceptibility of the innate facial
skin's immune system of the Chinese to deal
with this disorder (ethnicity differences). It
is further claimed that the Chinese in general are
not prone to flushing or blushing. They have no
vascular, neural or epidermal abnormalities.
source
I find this odd that there is little rosacea in
China and that the Chinese are suffering from
demodecosis instead. I don't think the Chinese are that much
different from Americans, but what do I know? I
don't have a Ph.D. and I am not a clinical research
scientist, nor do I have anything to prove that
the Chinese are not suffering from demodecosis, so
I have added demodecosis to the list of other diseases
that rosaceans may have since a noted rosacea authority
has concluded this previously unknown theory. And remember
that I am a salesman and don't have the crediblity to
substantiate much. But I do have a few of things going

I have had rosacea / eczema and rashes for many , many years now ...
the dermatologists just keep prescribing stuff like the cortisteroid
creams and minocycline and stuff ... the minocycline i think works
alright, but they also say not to use these drugs and creams too much
because of their strengths ....
I just tried this stuff Xango juice and it completely cleared up a
rash on my inside elbow, Unbelievable! My co-workers said my face
cleared up some too, but i can't really tell about that ... all i
know is i had a bad rash on my right elbow for 6 months , i did
nothig to make it better as i was too busy , when somebody turned me
onto this stuff (southeast asian fruit containing Xanathones in the
rind - an antioxidant) .... i am not lying this stuff worked in like
9 days on my elbow!!! Needless to say i joined and am going to try it
to see if it completely clears up all my skin problems!!!
It is a network marketing product, but the product can be purchased
even without joining the Network marketing portion of it... but it is
great, since i just joined and i think the product is awesome,i am
creating a website to explain the product and opportunity. Hopefully
i will have clear skin & make good money!!!

Rosacea authorities in the West have studied
the demodex mite and its role in rosacea for
some time now and have concluded that the
demodex might have a role in the pathogenesis
of rosacea in some cases. Some authorities
have speculated on what this role might be.
Obviously more studies need to be conducted to
better understand demodex in perspective to
rosacea.
In the Far East, particulary China, according to
Demodex Solutions there are some incredible
claims of 'curing' rosacea by Zhao Zhongzhou.
In the West it has been drumed into all rosaceans
that there is no cure for rosacea. Using the
'cure' word is like shouting fire in a theatre, and
if the theatre is full of rosaceans that word sends
cringes up and down their spines. Could the
Chinese may not have this revulsion to the use
of the 'c' word? Could it be that the East will ever
meet the West in what the word 'cure' means?
Now lets take the West's most popular answer
for rosacea:
Metronidazole and Antibiotics
Would the Western Medical rosacea authorities
ever use the 'cure' word to describe what these
prescription products will do for your rosacea?
And just in case you aren't getting the desired
results with the most popular Western Pharmaceutical
treatments for rosacea, your dermatologist will
offer you a plethora of other prescriptions for
rosacea, IPL, ETS, Laser, Botox, and the list goes
on and on. But remember, the West will never
use the 'cure' word and will point out rather
bluntly that there is no cure for rosacea.
To conclude that Zhao Zongzhou is making false
claims and never investigating personally what
his medical ointment is doing for rosaceans and
attacking his credibility along with attacks on
Demodex Solutions and affiliates just might come
back to haunt you. The Chinese may have a massive
rosacea problem that makes the 14 million Americans
who have rosacea pale into insignificance. To conclude
that the Chinese know very little about the role demodex
has in rosacea may be shortsighted.
Whether the demodex plays a primary role in rosacea
or a secondary one, more scientific studies will no
doubt surface to clear the matter up. Slamming
those who are looking into this or who are publishing
demodex solutions will not make this go away. There
are way too many frustrated rosaceans with the
lack of effective treament for rosacea in the West. 25
rosaceans getting results with the Z cream will no
doubt be expotential.

then,
Having 14 million Americans with rosacea puts this problem
in a new light. Don't you think the rosacea problem is bigger
than the USA? Do you really think that the USA is handling
the rosacea problem the best way? Do you think the Chinese
have some insight into what may help rosacea?
All I know is that when I used the Z cream it works. Check

I think that more Chinese are using the Z cream than the
total number of users of Metrogel worldwide! Do you really
think that the Chinese know nothing about what to do for
rosacea?
I don't know if the demodex mite is the cause of rosacea
but there is some evidence that the Chinese may be on to
something. It is worth the effort to investigate. There is too
much evidence that there is validity to the theory.

I subscribe to Woman's World. And I just recieved my newest issue the
April 19th one. And in an article about breaking out, they have
information about Rosacea. It's small but atleast its something,
informing people about rosacea. In it , it talks about Finacea to get
rid of redness. Does anyone know if it works?
Tim,
no i havn't tried tha face wash......do you use it? i'm curious about it now.
Emily
Tim
as explained to me- rosacea is a vascular disease. So the laser treats the
vascular areas of overgrown or enlarged blood vessels.
it also treats pigmented areas.
StarPulse is what was used on me......the gentle laser....light pulses are
absorbed into the blood cells,..it causes the vessels to colapse then dissolve
into the body.
i think she called it the aura laser.....IT WAS a wand i beleive...she zapped
individual veins first with a pencil like attachment...then painted my face with
the wand..SHE USed ALOE VERA GEL instead of the other gel...it is gentler, and
she said easier to use.
you can pick up the phone book and start calling around your area for vein
specialists....even salons and spas are doing it now days, but i go to a vein
clinic........a dermatologist can probably help. Call the offices of these ppl
and have them explain to you.
often you might even be eligible for a free consultation. ....so, a phone call,
and an appt to evaluate you.
you can get a pkg. deal, but i opted for single treatments and saved my money
between.
Emily
Noreen--
I am happy to see that Emily is having great success with IPL. I have found
it indispensible, as well, although I would have to characterize it as
"moderately uncomfortable," in my case. Many doctors will provide numbing cream
for their patients. Some of us--myself included--cannot tolerate chemicals on
our faces, so I go to a doctor who owns a "cold air" chilling machine. The
technician blows cold air on my face as she zaps me with the light, and this
prevents discomfort.
In terms of price, some doctors are truly gaugers, sorry to say. One doctor
wanted $600 for one treatment. My doctor at first ran a "special" offering
5 treatments for $1500, but when he saw that I have to go back very
frequently, he began charging me only $200 per treatment. (The offer came
after his
very generous receptionist went to bat for me because she knew my insurance
was not covering this.)
You had asked where we get our treatments done. If what you wanted was
specifics, here are mine: I go to the office of Dr. Robert Adrian in
Washington,
D.C. I have also been told about a wonderful doctor whose last name is
Ritchie in Tennessee. He is Patrick Bitter trained and, the last time I
checked,
charged $200 per treatment. Apparently, he has rosacea himself and is very
committed to helping his patients get well.
Hope this helps,
Alice
i've never had the v-beem, but am so happy with ipl......it even helps with the
orange peel skin.
Emily
Noreen,
the photo facial is easy, and painless.
the cost can be a cpl hundred depending on how much you do. mine cost 300- for
some vein zapping and then doing the entire face.
lots of places are doing it. I go to a vien clinic . you can look in the phone
book. Make sure, of course , that you go to a reputable office.
Emily
Hello all
I have had one IPL treatment which wasn't very pleasant, but I
wouldn't avoid it because of the pain. My derm suggested that we try
VBeam if I wanted to , the next time. Well the next time is coming
next week on the 15th.
I can't seem to find much information on Vbeam to make some informed
decision! At the time of Dr Nase's writing his book, there was not
alot known on long term improvements with vbeam.
I'm hopin someone in here has had both and could tell me their
opinion on which is better for them.
thank you
Aimee
thanks for this today.
i'm going for my photo facial tomorrow....i had a a few a cpl years ago and my
skin looked great. It has been icky for 3 months now and i'm finally getting in
to have it done. i'm glad to know they can do it when it's all icky.
i too am light olive. i laugh when they say it happens mostly to fair skin ppl.
i will keep up a regular schedule of treatments so i don't get this bad
again......i waited too long.
Emily
I've been with rosacea for, let me look at my calendar... oh yes, it's been my
constant companion for a decade. It's mean and becomes extraordinarily ugly
whenever I am in a nerve-inducing social situation (read: trying to flirt or
meeting
Very Important People). No matter how much make-up (and thank you Laura Mercier
for your camouflage!!!) it always somehow managed to start that chain reaction..
You feel the heat in your face, you get horribly embarrassed, and you... you
know it
already, surely. Because I have dark features (though my skin is pale olive) and
blackheads (yuck....) no one would give me the rosacea diagnosis. Meanwhile,
both
my cheeks, around my nose, and my upper chest became perfect facsimiles of
California road maps. Yep, you could have traced your journey from my chest on
up.... turtle necks and full make up in June, anyone? That this could happen to
someone as vein as me?
Through much begging (avec streams of tears, of course) and many in-office hissy
fits, I finally saw my 3rd, maybe 4th dermatologist who understood that people
with
blackheads could also conceivably have rosacea. (hear that? that's the sound of
me
slapping my forehead) and got the referal to the good Dr Chu at Hammersmith in
London. I had to wait MONTHS to see him, and when I finally did (and I nearly
missed it because my train got stuck out on the tracks!) I got to have my first
laser
treatment straight away! At less than 1/5 of the price I was given by almost
every
other clinic (I was quoted from one place at 350 pounds for cheeks only). For 90
pounds (that's about 165 dollars) I got full face, neck and chest IPL AND yag on
the
especially vicious veins. OK, I DID walk around looking an awful lot like a
victim of
demonic strain of chicken pox for a long time and a few pink depressions which
scared the living daylights out of me but which subsequently evened themselves
out....
I have had two more IPL sessions and go again this week. Not only is my face
unrecognisably NOT red, but added advantage of my own collagen being boosted, I
look years younger. Because I was an especially full-blown case, and also
because
I am so incredibly vain and insist on ending up with perfect skin (like the
Lloyd Cole
song!) I will have several more treatments. The wonderful thing is that after a
treatment the effects continue for quite some time. I hardly ever wear make up
now,
something I have not been able to get away with for ten years, and my skin is
firmer, have far fewer blackheads (the pores are no longer hubcap sized) but
best of
all, I haven't flushed. At all.
I believe the negative experiences with IPL have had a lot to do with the
ineptitude
of the person using the device, and patients not sticking it out. Those veins
are
sometimes stubborn buggers and refuse to give up the ghost. I find that even the
ones which slowly seemed to be reappearing have gone for good after a few more
treatments. Waiting weeks between appointments to find that my skin looks better
now than three days after a treatment, etc, and especially the price (I can have
any
IPL or YAG treatments anywhere, same price) I am looking forward to the new
machines they're bringing this summer (hair removal!!!)
It's worth it to really shop around for price and experience, and the cost
weighed
against all the lotions, meds, etc not to mention emotions, it's ideal.
I ocassionally get red flare ups and small bumps on my forehead. I
thought it was just an allergic reaction, rash, or something. I saw a
dermatologist and he said I had rosacea. He gave me metrolotion,
plexion, and doxycycline hyclate. I used the plexion everyday and
noticed a lot of improvement. I used the metrolotion but I'm not sure
about that stuff. The pills I really didn't take too much. I think
the plexion was the best. After my face had all cleared up I
eventually stopped using any of the products. Well my flare ups we're
all gone and now I am back living with mom=stress. I don't know if
stress causes it but I think it does. Now my forehead is all red
again with the bumps and looks like I have a sunburn. Today is day
one and I am going to start using all 3 like I probably was supposed
to from the very beginning. I will keep you guys posted and let you
know about my progress. Has anyone else used any of these
medications? Any success?
Karyn,
This is just what I wanted. I appreciate your suggestions and will
re-write the page using some of your suggestions after I get some
more feedback hopefully after others read offer some suggestions
too. You have some intelligent and insightful suggestions. And yes,
I keep on the lookout for the weird and unusual treatments for
rosacea and the shoe theory should be at the top of the list? Maybe
a poll should decide which one is the most unusual. I think
the "Opening the Ileocecal and Houston valve" is the most unusual but
I am just one viewpoint. No doubt, others may point out to me some
other unusual and weird treatments for rosacea which can be added to
the list.
I don't think the Zhongzhou Medical Ointment is weird or unusual
because there are probably more people on planet earth using it for
rosacea than the number of rosaceans using Metrogel or other USA
pharmaceutical company prescription drugs for rosacea or any of the
non prescription products made in the USA. I think it is a shame that
the doctors in the USA and the FDA dismiss the Chinese medical
professionals and their products. So that is the reason I didn't
list the Z cream on the weird.html page.
By the way, I took the liberty of forwarding your post below to the

Hi Guys, (If you do enquire about the Bemer, please say that you have
been referred by Mark from Brighton - thanks!!)
I'm going to be honest from the get-go : I do have a "finantial"
interest in this -- If I can refer enough people who purchase the
Bemer therapy, I can then purchase my own Bemer therapy for quite a
discounted price.. And i really want one!!!
First of all BEMER3000 = Bio-Electro-Magnetic-Energy-Regulation.
-- has won numerous inventors awards, and is used worldwide, also by
numerous doctors.
I had been told by my mother about this new "bed" that had amazing
results on her friends' daughter in Cape Town. She asked around to
find out if there was anyone in the UK that sold the Bemer, which she
gave to me.
I then gave Eva (the Uk Bemer rep, and a very nice lady indeed) a call
and enquired about my condition, of which she explained a bit about
the system, and invited me to try out the Bemer bed for free.
So, I took the train up to see her (Watford-Junction area) and I tried
out the bed and the pulsed light attachment. I AM VERY IMPRESSED! You
just lie on the Bemer bed, put a blanket over, and it works its magic!
Roughly : The BEMER3000 Therapy device was developed under the
auspices of Prof Dr W A Kafka (University of Munich) affiliated to the
prestigious Max Planck Institute in Germany. Prof Kafka developed a
breakthrough, internationally acclaimed and patented means of
effectively applying pulsed electro magnetic field therapy in such a
way that a non-invasive, gentle and holistic treatment became possible
for the first time: BEMER therapy. The BEMER therapy is science-based
and clinically proven in terms of consistent, high efficacy results
and is explainable in terms of basic bio chemical processes.
Bio Electro Magnetic Energy Regulation (BEMER) is a special pulsed
electro magnetic field therapy and is based on physics principles of
the interaction of magnetic fields with electrically charged particles
such as ions. Ion exchange and ion pumping determines the metabolism
of any cell of any living organism, including vertebrates. A pulsed
electro magnetic field with specific characteristics promotes the bio
chemical processes pertaining to the individual cells which in turn
causes secondary effects on the physiology of the organism, human or
veterinarian, or indeed even plant life.
BEMER3000 therapy is this method. Clinically proven and
science/evidence-based the BEMER Therapy is the non plus ultra of

need anything...)
And this is where Eva and I decided to scratch each other's back - I
refer enough people, and in return, i'll get a nice little discount =)
So if you are interested, drop Eva a line at Bemeruk@..., i'm sure
she will be able to tell you alot more than me. ( and pls

They both contain sodium sulfacetamide 10% and sulfur 5%. Plexion
comes in a cleasing cloth and Rosula is a gel.
what are Rosula gel & Plexion? maybe it would work for me.
i use metrogel, sometimes a watered down benzol peroxide on the
bumps.....nothing much takes out the redness so far.
i get releif with an frozen gel pack for the bumps.
Been using both for about a week now and it seems to be making my
face worse. Called my dermotologist, he said its supposed to until
my face gets used to it. I'm getting pretty depressed because my
face has never been redder. Any feed back would be greatly
appreciated.
Nona,
My face is oily and I never had any dryness
problem and actually the Z cream helps dry
up all the oil so it was excellent for me.
Others have complained that it dries up their
face so much that they need a moisturizer.
There have been several suggestions on what to
use for a moistuerizer but obviously that would
be an individual thing since there are so many
factors to consider with using a moisturizer.
You probably have one that you use that feels
just right for you.
All I know is that I had the redness component of
rosacea along with the pimples/pustules/papules
and it cleared up my redness. I am naturally of
ruddy complexion, especially since I live in Hawaii
and I have to be very careful of the sun. But
the Z cream has been wonderful for me. I just hope
and pray it lasts.
Another editorial you should check is the one on the
prescription Ivermectin which I wrote
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/ivermectin.html
Thanks for the alternate view and your personal endorsement of the
product. Did you have any trouble with over-drying of the skin as was
mentioned by Dr. Nase? If one does not have the acne component of
rosacea, but only the redness and occasional burning/tight feeling would
you recommend this product? I will check out the two url's you included
in your post. Nona
Yes, Emily, we are kindred spirits. I am 51 years old--soon to be 52--and
have been suffering with rosacea since the age of 38. I think I am the
quintessential example of what hormones can trigger.
You mentioned photofacials in your post, and my first thought is that my best
source of relief comes from the photofacials. I had a series of 5 treatments
a few years ago, and at this point my rosacea is progressing so rapidly, I
assume because I am fast approaching menopause, that I now go in once per month
for the IPL photofacial treatment, something I've done for at least 26 months
straight. At this point, however, the rosacea is functioning a bit like a
runaway freight train, so the photofacials are just keeping the problem at a
marginally manageable level.
In any event, if you work up the courage to go back for the photofacial, I
wish you the best of luck.
Sincerely,
Alice
Ellen,
At the beginning for the first two weeks, I used
the Z cream twice a day, once in the morning
a light application and then a heavier application at
night. The Z cream does not blend in well to the
skin and the Demodex Solutions LTD site recommends
either the X Cream with Metronidazole or the
Cosmetic Fumanling cream without Metronidazole
during the day.
I tried the X Cream with Metronidazole and I it
turned my face red in spots. I immediately stopped
using it on my face. However others have found
that the X Cream works for them. Remember the
X-Factor. See this url
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/xfactor.html
Karl DeKing who is in this group says not only
in a message posted in this group but also in the
ZenMed database at the rosaceans.com website
"I have found that a light spray with Zenmed
Nutrient Boost Spray immediately before applying
the Z-cream helps to thin it so it spreads better."
The ZenMed Database can be found at this url
http://tinyurl.com/7yt7r
After two weeks, I began using the Z cream only
at night with a heavy application for another
month. After that, I began using light applications
at night. I still put a dab on my nose and cheeks
and sleep with it, but sometimes I am lazy and
don't even apply it. My face is completely clear
of rosacea. My diary on this can be found at this
url
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/diary3.html
I have not found anything as good as the Z cream
and highly recommend rosaceans at least try it
since if it works for so many in this group it must
be placed in the list of arsenals against rosacea.
I have a list of demodex products at this url
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/demodexproducts.html
My editorial on demodex mites and rosacea can be
found at this url
http://www.rosaceans.com/html/demodex.html
Whether the demodex mite is the real culprit of
rosacea or not, the point is that the Z cream does
work for some rosaceans. As more and more
Americans use the Z cream and report their findings
here in this group and in my Demodex Products Database at
this url
http://tinyurl.com/4w72q
there will be enough evidence for any reasonable
rosacean to consider trying it.

hi all.
Hi Ellen,
I just use it once a day and am happy with results. When I used it morning and
night, when I first started treatment, I found that it worked quickly but was
drying my skin out too much. Now I use moisturizer in a.m. and during the day
and the Z at night (I use Neutragena moisturizer around my eyes at night too).
Good luck.

Hi-
I just ordered the two creams from demodex solutions (the ZZ night
creams and the X day cream) Have people had success using both, or
just the night cream? If I just use the night cream, is it okay
just to use it once a day?
Also, what is Emu oil?
Thanks-
Ellen

It has been alleged that the demodexsolutions.com

I have spoken to the owner of the company, Walter

The shipping at demodexsolutions.com is very good

demodexsolutions.com is no fly by night rosacea

number of rosaceans in this group who have posted
how their products have helped their rosacea. That is
what it is all about: DOES THE PRODUCT WORK? While
a few have said it did nothing for their rosacea, there

One report says guaifenesin helps control rosacea. If you have
fibromyalgia this herbal treatment may help as well.

As more reports come in, we will learn whether quaifenesin
will help more rosaceans.

Julie,
Thanks for the post. Please add your regimen to
the WHAT WORKS FOR ROSACEA DATABASE at
this url
http://www.rosaceans.com:80/tinc?key=XQYOfJXa&formname=rosaceansdata
This database is growing and will be a help to many
rosaceans accessing this database. You can search by prescription only,
prescription and non prescription, non prescription only , or other. As
this database grows further it will be much easier than sorting through
hundreds of emails at the group site. Each comment is a brief post
on how each rosacean is controlling their rosacea which should prove
to be a valuable treasure for rosaceans.
Thanks.

Hi
I posted for the first time last week having problems with the zz
cream. I stopped using it for few days to let things calm down and
have been reading all the old posts and getting great info. Thank
you all for sharing your experiences so that others, like myself,
can benefit.
I started using the zz cream again 5 nights ago and Emu oil during
the day. For the first time in years I have blemish free skin, the
red has faded to pink, virtually invi
